AN EXPERIENCE UNLIKE ANY OTHER

Performances and experiences for you to discover and immerse yourself in.

Balcones Distilling

The Other Art Fair is continuing its partnership with award-winning Balcones Distilling to celebrate the artistry of whisky-making and the deep connection between craftsmanship and creativity.

Now in its third year, the Spirit of Balcones: Artist in Residence program remains the cornerstone of Balcones’ creative partnership with The Other Art Fair. Established to support artists who defy convention and expand the way we see the world, the program reflects the same bold, boundary-pushing ethos that drives Balcones’ approach to whisky-making in Texas.

With backgrounds in art, music, and writing, and led by a head distiller who is also a master ceramicist, the Balcones team are artists first, distillers second. For them, whisky is a canvas: a delicate dance between science and soulful expression, shaped by the rhythms of the Texas climate. There is no finish line, only a continuous journey of exploration and discovery. This partnership celebrates creative possibility and the freedom of self-expression.

In addition to the Artist in Residence program, attendees at The Other Art Fair will have the opportunity to engage with members of the Balcones distillery team, enjoy signature Balcones craft cocktails, and sample award-winning American Single Malts that could only come from Texas.

Auditory Odyssey

an immersive sound bath experience by Allison Bagg

In the midst of the visual, this work invites you to listen. A soft place to land where sound becomes sanctuary. This sound sculpture is not only seen but felt. You are welcomed to feel the sound, not just hear it. Invite it into every cell of the body to give you a deep tissue massage. Sense the vibrations as they weave through the body, strengthening connection to the rhythm and pulse of the heart, our inner drum. Visitors are encouraged to recline, dissolve into frequency, and remember that art is also vibration, an invisible architecture of resonance.

Kipkemoi

Kipkemoi is a German-Kenyan self-taught artist based in Los Angeles. Raised in northern Germany and shaped by his Kenyan heritage, Kip’s work explores themes of belonging, identity, and his everlasting question of “Where Is Home?”. Working primarily in acrylic medium, he uses the contrast of bright color palettes and monochromatic portraiture to highlight the emotional depth of the subjects. He aims to universalize the subjects’ lived experience, and make it relatable across cultural and geographic borders. Kip wants his art to focus on the inherent sameness of our human experience, as he expands my own understanding of belonging.
